New gangway design
Kenz Cranes recently unveiled a new design for an advanced and multifunctional offshore gangway construction with an X-wing foundation. The design of the fully motion compensated gangway will be used for personnel transfer to wind turbines. The X-wing allows to keep maximum deck space on a vessel and brings an advantage for existing vessels in case of replacement, the company said. Because of this appliance a 360⁰ reach can be realized. The DNV GL-certified gangway can also be used for full motion compensated offshore lifts with crane hook attachment.

OFFSHORE CRANES
A trusted partner in the offshore industry, Kenz has provided pedestal mounted cranes for all kinds of offshore structures and vessels for over 50 years. Serving clients all over the world, our product portfolio adds value to their operations, with equipment ranging from 2.5t – 500t SWL.
In order to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction possible, we design and build all of our equipment according to client specifications and in accordance with international standards. In addition, Kenz cranes can be certified by any recognized authority. It goes without saying that our equipment can be delivered turnkey, anywhere in the world.

KNUCKLE BOOM CRANE
Based on a proven design, the Kenz Knuckle Boom crane is easy to customize in order to fit client requirements. As opposed to its contemporaries, our design has the main hoist rope running underneath the knuckle. With its “easy to re-reeve” main boom lift, the hoist rope can be placed over the main boom to handle taller and heavier loads. In addition to this, the main hoist winch can be placed below the deck (also at a later stage) which facilitates deeper operations and better vessel stability.
RAM LUFFING CRANE
Making use of hydraulic cylinders to perform the luffing action, the Kenz Ram Luffing crane is the ideal design for harsh offshore environments. With its compact and robust design, this crane type is ideal for offshore installations and vessels of all types. The limited number of moving parts on these cranes means that they are highly reliable and require limited maintenance.
BOOM HOIST CRANE
Kenz Boom Hoist Cranes have a lattice type boom and make use of winches to perform the luffing action. The lightweight design makes these cranes ideal for performing operations that require high load-radius combinations.
QUALITY ASSURANCE
Kenz cranes are manufactured using only high quality- and extensively tested components, making them world renowned for their durability. Before delivery to the end user, every piece of equipment is subjected to rigorous tests at our facility in Zaandam. These tests can be carried out according to the regulations and guidelines of any certifying authority, including Lloyd’s Register, DNV and ABS.
MAINTENANCE AND SERVICE
Working closely with our services department, we can provide a broad portfolio of after-sales services throughout the lifetime of your equipment. Whether it is regular maintenance, upgrades, refurbishments or spare parts, Kenz Crane Services can ensure prompt worldwide response, both on-and offshore.

SERVICE
Wear and tear on offshore cranes is a normal phenomenon that occurs as these cranes are subjected to a number of forces. Factors such as corrosion, fatigue and in extreme cases machinery failure can be detrimental to offshore operations. What’s more: they can lead to increased health and safety risks. As such, timely and proper maintenance of offshore cranes is of vital importance and we at Kenz Figee understand that. Through Kenz Crane Services we offer extensive maintenance, refurbishment and modification services that ensure a longer lifetime of offshore hoisting and lifting equipment.

Emas Chiyoda Subsea has announced that it, and certain of its subsidiaries, have filed voluntary petitions for reorganisation under chapter 11 of the US Bankruptcy Code.
The company said it hoped doing so would facilitate the company’s financial and operational restructuring.
The petitions were filed in the Southern District of Texas Bankruptcy Court.
In connection with the filing, ECS has received a commitment on an up to US$90 million financing facility from Chiyoda Corporation and Subsea 7.
Subject to bankruptcy court approval, the financing will be made available to support the company’s continuing business operations, minimise disruption to its worldwide projects and make necessary operational changes.
In a statement Emas Chiyoda Subsea said: “The restructuring will provide an opportunity to focus on strengthening financial and operational systems, enhancing the company’s efforts to weather the current challenges.
“As a major player in the subsea sector, Emas Chiyoda Subsea’s operational and financial performance is dependent on the macro outlook and expansion plans of oil majors.
“Whilst Emas Chiyoda Subsea has an order book of over US$1 billion, the commencement dates of many of these projects remain in flux, affecting utilisation levels and negatively impacting financial performance. To address these challenges, the company has commenced a process to restructure its balance sheet and position it for the future.
“The company believes that this court process is in the best interest of all of its stakeholders, resulting in value creation and a sustainable capital structure. This difficult but important step will provide for a transparent restructuring of the company under the supervision of the Bankruptcy Court.”
The company has filed certain customary ‘first day motions’ with the court to ensure a smooth transition into chapter 11. Emas Chiyoda Subsea said it will continue to engage and work closely with all creditors to achieve the best possible consensual restructuring outcome for all interested parties.
Additional information, including court filings and other documents, regarding the restructuring, can be found by here.

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT
Besides the different types of offshore cranes and gangways, Kenz can also deliver other stand alone or integrated systems which are designed and manufactured by us from concept to delivery. See some of the possibilities and references below, for other equipment and inquiries please contact our sales department.
EBOP GANTRY CRANE
On new generation drilling rigs, heavy weight blow-out preventer units (BOP) are used. We can design an deliver BOP cranes which can be used for horizontal and vertical transport of the BOP handling systems on the rigs.
A&R WINCHES
Kenz can design winches to abandon or recover a pipe on the seabed. Increased water depths require increased top tension, more tension capacity and larger cable lengths. Our winches are heave compensated, can lift upto 300t and 3 km depth.
SURGE DAMPER
In order to reduce the surge of an FSO (backward and forward motion) during a storm, we can deliver surge damper systems for FPSO’s to reduce pression and swinging motion of the yoke system. We built this system for example for one of Bluewater Energy Services FPSO.
